For those utilizing engine swaps or heavily modified cooling systems, this expansion tank mounts to the right side shock tower to provide a high point in the cooling system. On LS engines for example, the highest point of the cooling system must be higher than the steam ports on the cylinder heads in order to effectively vent trapped air out of the cooling system. The expansion tank requires a standard radiator cap and must be connected to the factory coolant overflow tank or similar.
Capacity is approximately 0.7L. Constructed of 5052-H32 aluminum, provided bare. Includes black anodized aluminum fittings - a 3/8" barb on the bottom plumbs back to the radiator or heater circuit, and the 1/4" barb on the side goes to the steam ports on the cylinder head.
Each tank is pressure tested to ensure there are no leaks.
Please note, this is not compatible with the factory cooling fan relays, unless they have been relocated,. It uses the mounting holes formerly used by the fan relays.
